7,000 Sikh yatrees in town to celebrate Baisakhi in Pakistan

LAHORE: Around 7,000 Sikh yatrees from across the world gathered at the Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal on Monday to celebrate the festival of Baisakhi. Around 4,200 Sikh yatrees from India are currently visiting Pakistan and would stay on for the next 10 days to participate in different ceremonies in connection with the festival.
Evacuee Trust Pakistan Board (ETPB) Chairman Syed Asif Hashmi welcomed 3,000 Indian Sikhs at the Wahga border before the festival began. The main prayer would be held on the last day of the festival in which the ETPB chairman would also participate. Strict security arrangements have been made by the government to prevent any untoward incident from happening during the festival. staff report
