Islamanad : Gopinath K. Rajput says, The Minorities Affairs Ministry in Pakistan plays a very crucial role in protection and preservation of non-Muslim rights in the country and in any circumstances it should not be dissolved or merge with another ministry. All the Minorities community and including particularly Pakistani Hindus are going throw lot of persecution in Sindh, Balochistan and rest of Pakistan today due to various factors.

The news of over the last few weeks there were reports that the Ministry of Minority Affairs would merge with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, but the international pressure forced the Pakistan Peoples Party to retain the Ministry. Shahbaz Bhatti, Pakistan's embattled Minister for Minority Affairs, retained his office on February 11 as 22 other Federal Ministers and State Ministers took the oath.

Bhatti has received multiple death threats from Muslim extremists for having come out against Islamic blasphemy laws and intervening in the case of Asia Bibi - a Christian woman who has been condemned to death for supposed blasphemy.
