Note by Editorial : Who is Ramapir ?

Bhagvan Ramdevji Maharaj was a Tunvar Rajput regarded by Hindus as the incarnation of Lord Krishna. History goes that five Pirs from Mecca came to test his miraculous powers and after being convinced, paid their homage to him. Since then he is venerated by Muslims as Ramshahpir or Ramapir.

The fame of Ramapir reached far and wide. He believed in the equality of all human beings, both high and low, rich and poor. He helped the down trodden by granting them their wishes. Bhagvan Ramdevji Maharaj took samadhi (conscious exit from the mortal body.) in 1459A.D. Maharaj Ganga Singh of Bikaner constructed a temple around the samadhi in 1931A.D. The devotees of Ramdevpir offer rice, coconuts, churma and toy wooden horses to Ramdevji. The samadhi temple is in Ramdevra, Rajasthan.

(Photo : An annual Hindu festival in Pakistan, the Ramapir, is viewed suspiciously by some Muslims who do not like seeing non-Muslim women going about without a veil)
(Photo : It is an event where Hindus combine religious duty with fun and games. An entire amusement park - complete with mechanised merry-go-rounds and roller-coaster rides - is on hand)
(Photo : The festival falls in the Hindu solar month of Buddo - the last month of the Indian monsoon cycle when the winter crops have been sown in either September or October)

NOTE : Rama Pir Temple was made in 1800 A.D. Khatri Chanoo is said to have initiated the work of the temple. Rama Pir used to sit at the place where at present Mandir (temple) exists. One wish of the Katris was realized then they got this temple made as a token of thankfulness. As a matter of fact Rama, Pir is buried in Rajistan (India). Every year a fair is held at Tando Allahyar city and at the same time fair is held at Rajistan as well. It is said that around one (01) million people come to witness the proceedings of Rama Pir fair at Tando Allahyar city. Most of the people come on foot alongwith white flags in their hands.
