Philadelphia: February 3, 2010. (PCP) Mr. George Murad, Chief Organizer of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC International Wing in a statement here today demanded justice for 12 years Christian Shazia Bashir, who was killed by Mohammad Naeem Advocate when working as housemaid in his home on January 22, 2010. Mr. Murad said “Justice delayed is Justice denied and government investigation and medical committees are denying facts to safe influential lawyer nominated in FIR” Shazia deserves justice as Pakistani teenage who was killed when doing housemaid duties to earn living for his poor family. Mr. George said that Christian leader S P Singha voted in favor of Pakistan after assurance by Quaid-e-Azam that minorities will be fully protected and shall enjoy equal rights. In his first address to legislative Assembly of Pakistan on August 11, 1947, Quaid-e-Azam clarified that all citizen of Pakistan will be treated equally without cast or creed. he also said that minorities have nothing to fear. He questioned ? Do we fulfill the promises and vision of the father of the nation? The Pakistan became in being more than 60 years ago and minorities of Pakistan are still hopeful that the vision of the Quaid-e-Azam will be fulfilled Mr. George Murad to straight record said that Christianity played a vital role in field of education and health and are still involved in the both fields. Whereas, most of the bureaucrats and parliamentarians have received education from Christian schools. The Christians also stand beside the Muslim brothers for the defense of country in army, navy and air force and gave their lives for the defense of country. even then thy are treated like Hindus used to treat untouchables when it is not the part of Islam but it is adopted from Hindus as they treated Muslim before partition. Presenting another example, Mr. Murad said that in courts the witness of minority person is considered half against Muslims and two minorities persons are considered as one Muslim witness. There is long list of discriminatory laws which need to be addressed by the government of Pakistan because it is very important to give equal rights to the minorities of Pakistan when minorities are also Pakistani, they born here, they are not imported product that some one can get rid of them. being Pakistani, its their basic right to have equal rights in Pakistan. He quoted one Hadith: a Christian delegation from Ethiopia came to Madina to visit Prophet. The prophet Mohammad offered them Masjid-e-Nabvi to stay and delegation was also given permission to pray in Masjid. the act of prophet shows his way of dealing with Christians. Pakistan Prime Minister pledges to review laws that may sharpening tension among Pakistan’s religious communities but days after a Muslim mob burned homes in rioting that left 8 Christians dead in Gojra. Mr. Gillani also said all those who were found responsible for the Gogra acts will get exemplary punishment to prove that all citizen are equal and no one is above the law but the recent news shocking that DCO who was responsible to control; the situation in Gojra but he did not and let Muslim mob to burn the houses of Christians and did nothing has been promoted while all other culprits responsible for burning houses and burnt 7 Christians alive have been bailed out. It means the culprits who did this kind of action has been encouraged to repeat such kind of evil action again against the minorities of Pakistan. Therefore, I demand to government of Pakistan to take strong action specially against those who instigate other people to do such evil acts. I also urge the religious leaders and politicians to play their role to bring peace and harmony among the people of Pakistan. Mr. George Murad appealed to Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan to ensure justice for teenage Christian girl Shazia that Pakistani Christian may feel that they also enjoy equal rights in Pakistan. |
