Moga: Pakistan government has, in principle, agreed to open almost all the 172 gurdwaras in the country in a phased manner for pilgrims, a religious organisation claimed today.

The Pakistan Government has also agreed to get vacated 34 gurdwaras encroached by the locals, Sohan Singh, vice president of the Bhai Mardana Yadgari Kirtan Darbar Society who is currently on a pilgrimage of Sikh shrines in Pakistan with a delegation, told PTI over phone.

Singh said he had talks with Pakistan's Chief Parliamentary Secretary Ramesh Lal, Pakistan Wakf Board Chairman Aasai Hasmi and Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee chief Sham Singh.

After their renovation, these Sikh shrines will be handed over to the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee, he said.

About 50 ft wide and two km long corridor from Gurdwara Kartapur Sahib to Dera Baba Nanak has already been completed and the remaining one kilometre stretch upto border would be completed within three month, Singh said.
