Namaste HAF Supporters,
Hindus and other minorities in Pakistan need your help now! Did you know that today a Hindu marriage ceremony is not officially recognized by Pakistan? Therefore, a couple who has been formally wed through Hindu, Sikh, B'hai or other non-Muslim rites cannot register their marriage with the appropriate legal authorities. This leaves Hindu and minority women, in particular, vulnerable to forced marriages with Muslim men, as they have no way to prove their martial status, and thus, are forced or coerced to convert to Islam.
But you can help make a change by clicking here and signing this petition letter to Pakistan's Ambassador Husain Haqqani in support of the Pakistani Hindu Marriage Bill. Your letter will be sent directly to the Ambassador Haqqani. If passed, this bill will be the first step in allowing Pakistani Hindus and other minorities to officially register their marriages.
The bill is up for debate this week so act now: Click here and sign the petition letter!
YOU can make a difference in the lives of Pakistani Hindus. The deadline is Friday, May 5/28, so don't wait to click and sign!
Thanks,
The HAF Team
